Jesus Gave You Abundant Life!

Every Monday in Capps Chapel, we pray for you and lay hands on your prayer requests as we speak God’s blessing over you. I would say the majority of the requests we receive are for healing of the body. This is understandable since our physical body is what enables us to get around in this world. If our bodies are not well, it affects everything in our lives!

I have recently written some daily declarations that I make over my own body. If Jesus talked to the winds and waves and they obeyed Him, then surely our bodies will listen to us and obey the Word of God that we speak out of our mouths!

Here is one of my favorites that I have declared for years!

“The life of God reigns supreme within me. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me and makes every cell of my body full of life! Sin, sickness, and death have no power over me. Old things have passed away, and I am a new creation in Christ Jesus!” (2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 8:11)

Darkness is overcome by light. Death is overcome by resurrection life, and what is sickness or disease but an attempt to rob the body of life? Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.” So, we know sickness is a thief! Then He said, “I came that YOU may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10).

Do you believe the words of Jesus? You may say, “Well, I don’t feel like that.” Perhaps not, but you can choose to believe. That is the first step.
